The Aldo Leopold Legacy Center
Aldo Leopold, Naturalist and father of the Land Ethic, early University of Wisconsin professor. His work led to the organization of the Aldo Leopold Foundation, fostering land reclamation and preservation initiatives. Wallenfang Custom Woodwork was involved in the building of the Leopold Foundation's new headquarters near Baraboo WI. From site harvested materials, we built 57 interior and exterior doors, cabinetry throughout and all the office work spaces. Very cool to be a part of such an incredible building. It's still one of the greenest buildings on the planet.
Charlotte's China Cabinet
Quarter sawn local white oak china cabinet. The tree was in the neighbors woods, he cut it and brought it here. We sawed it into lumber and it dried for three years. After I made this handsome unit, it went only 5 miles to its new home.
100 year old Barn Door Restoration
Green Lake Conference Center barn restoration. Meticulous rebuild of 4 doors, each 6 feet wide and 18 feet tall.
Sofa and table for a tight space
A tidy little sofa and table to fit a balcony with a great view of the windy city. All cushions were made with Sunbrella fabric and fasten securely to the frame to prevent them from blowing away. A cover was also made to protect it from the elements.
Art Deco door and Hanging Futon
Original design on the doors. True divided lites that flow beautifully through the set. Stained glass in the hand cut transom. Hanging Futons are a nice touch on the porch.
Ripon Italianate Kitchen
Original concept and design by Five Twelve Interiors LLC. One really cool thing about this kitchen was the utilization of the vintage farm sink. It was refinished and integrated into the design. Something like this always presents special challenges and in the end is so worth the extra effort. Many well conceived details make this kitchen stand out.
Green Lake American Legion
During the restructuring of the Green Lake American Legion, I was asked to re-make the bar and the kitchen. Below a few pictures of the final work.
